Amaru Zitlallinikue is a Dietera in the Shipibo lineage, Vision Quester in the Lakota tradition, Danzante de Luna, Reiki Master, Yoga Teacher, Sound Healer, Harpist, and Keeper of Ancestral Songs.

Her path into ancestral healing was not born from curiosity alone, but from necessity.

After navigating profound personal challenges, illness, and transformation, Amaru found herself seeking answers beyond the conventional approaches she had known. What began as a personal search for healing became a deep relationship with the plants, the natural world, and the ancestral traditions that would forever change the direction of her life.

Over the years, Amaru has had the privilege of organizing, facilitating, and supporting sacred ceremonies alongside Elders, Maestras, and Maestros from Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Guatemala. Her path has taken her from the forests of the Amazon to the ceremonial grounds of North and Central America, where she continues to learn through direct experience, prayer, discipline, and service.

Through Guided By Grandma, she weaves together her years of ceremonial study, artistic expression, and experience guiding others through personal transformation, creating spaces where people are invited to remember who they are, reconnect with their inner wisdom, and take an active role in their own healing.

Her approach is grounded in a simple understanding: The medicine does not do the work for us.

It can open doors, illuminate patterns, and offer profound teachings. But it is our responsibility to walk through those doors and embody what we have learned.

For this reason, Amaru is particularly passionate about ceremonial preparation and integration. She believes that how we arrive to the work, and what we do after the work, is just as important as the ceremony itself.

The real ceremony is how we choose to live our daily lives.

Amaru believes that we are all children of Mother Earth, and that her plants are among our greatest teachers and allies. To approach them is both a privilege and a responsibility, one that calls for sincerity, humility, discernment, kindness, respect, and an open heart.

Despite the many paths she has walked, Amaru considers herself, first and foremost, a student.

She continues to make pilgrimages to sacred lands, deepen her relationship with Mother Nature, and learn from her treasured Maestras and Maestros, the Guardians of the Medicines of the Forest.

Above all, she believes that the greatest teachings are not simply those we receive, but those we embody.
